Guinness World Record: Uri Gil is the oldest active fighter pilot in the world!
The soul searching of the a pilot: a 61 year old pilot with the abilities of a 20 year old; an example that nature is not everything. What does it mean to be a fighter pilot? This is a fascinating and emotional movie about a fighter pilot who has been responsible for protecting Israel’s airspace for 41 years. He flies an F-16, which is actually the most sophisticated airborne computer in the world, and for the first time in his life he finds he is able to cry.

Uri Gil is one of the battle-hardened combat aces of the Israeli Air Force. Yet he is a humanist and an extraordinary painter who opens his heart with surprising candor and engages in self-examination about the price he and the rest of Israel have paid. He can reveal everything since he was one of the pilots whose performance in the 6-Day War established the Israeli Air Force as the best in the world: the same Air Force that has recently become the most maligned in the world. The Air Force in which Uri’s friends have signed the famous “Pilots Letter”: a declaration of refusal to drop bombs on innocent civilians even as a means of killing terrorists.
This is the first look into the soul of an Israeli F-16 squadron; a look that enables us to view the movie with a certain inner stillness.

מלחמת ההתשה.
מלחמת לבנון.
האנטיפאדות הראשונה והשניה.
אורי התגייס לצה"ל ב1962 והתנדב לחיל האויר.
הוא עלה על מטוס ב1964 והיה בין הטייסים שיצרו את השם של חיל האויר הטוב ביותר בעולם.
עליונותו של חיל האויר יצרה יכולת הרתעה כלפי האויבים בפועל ובפוטנציה, ויחס של כבוד מצד כל מדינות העולם .
אורי המשיך להלחם כלוחם אוירי במטוסים ששינו את הטכנולוגיה שלהם והפכו ממכניים לדיגיטלים תוך שהוא מוכיח שהגיל הפיזיולוגי אינו פוגם ביכולתו המבצעית.
הוא נשאר טייס פעיל בזכות כשרונו ולא בחסד.
אורי הוא טייס הקרב המבוגר ביותר בעולם, הוא פרש מרצונו ועל פי החלטתו כשהוא מעל גיל 60 ועדיין בכושר מבצעי.

מבטו של אורי על השינויים שחלו בחיל האויר מתחילת דרכו ועד היום מספרים את ההתפתחות והשינויים שעבר החיל במהלך של ארבעה עשורים.
